Regulatory Programs Relating to Shoreline Restoration Projects

As described previously, a joint application process to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources has been established for the northeastern Illinois region to expedite preparation and review of permit applications. The application checklist; the application instructions, and the application form are available for download from the Web.

You should also consult with the Chicago, Illinois field office of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service regarding your project's potential impacts to rare and endangered species. Your county Soil and Water Conservation District should be consulted regarding soil erosion control plans associated with your project, and your county stormwater management agency may also provide useful information.
